Salt Marsh - (Two words when used as a noun, one word when used as an adjective).  A salt marsh is community of living and dead organisms dominated by plants that can tolerate wet, salty soils.  Salt marshes are usually in low coastal habitats.

Shard - A broken piece of glass, not to be confused with Sherd.

Sherd - A broken piece of pottery, not to be confused with Shard.

Solute - A substance dissolved in another substance called the Solvent.

Solution -A Homogeneous mixture of two or more substances.  It can be solid, liquid or gas.

Solvent - A substance in which other substances are dissolved. In chemistry it is the substance in a solution found in the largest amount. The solvent in salt water is water, the solute is salt.
